Cutting-edge LTFS Appliance
Expand your S3 or NAS storage with LTFS Tapes for seamless archiving. Say goodbye to cumbersome tape management and hello to a streamlined and effective solution for all your archiving needs.
UNLOCK YOUR TAPE LIBRARY'S POTENTIAL WITH LTFS
With LTFS technology, users can effortlessly transfer files to and from tape as if they were on a standard disk volume.
Our LTFS appliance seamlessly combines the benefits of disk with the reliability of tape storage. By consolidating LTFS tapes within a tape library alongside a small disk portion, we offer an affordable, dependable, and high-capacity data archiving solution.
The solution supports :
- SMB 1, SMB 2.1, SMB 3
- NFS 3, NFS 4.1
- S3
STORAGE AND ARCHIVING VIRTUALIZATION
The solution is "Software Defined" which enables resources virtualization by creating a level of abstraction between physical storage and users/applications. Fast disk cache storage plus high-capacity, low-cost LTO tape storage/archiving are fully managed by the system, aggregating two-tier heterogeneous resources.
COMMON INTERFACES
Our virtual storage is seamlessly accessible via SMB, NFS and S3 providing full support for Microsoft environments, Linux, and Apple Mac OS X systems.
SMB protocol enables secure file access and sharing on any network, perfect for collaborative work environments.
DATA ARE ACCESSIBLE FROM NETWORK SHARES
As we all know only roughly 20% on average of storage systems is active data. Nodeum's innovative solution allows moving the other 80% of the data into solutions based on NAS Storage, Object Storage or Tape Storage. This results in a much lower TCO, due to cost of infrastructure, but also cost of power consumption and cooling.
ADVANCED SEARCH SYSTEM
Users can easily navigate through the content catalog using a variety of criteria to find exactly what they need:
- Keywords
- Storage Location
- Path
- File Date (creation, access, modification)
- Size
NO VENDOR LOCK-IN
The solution is a LTFS Compliant Solution certified by LTO.org.
Break vendor lock-in by using an open standard. Storing your data in the Linear Tape File System (LTFS) open standard is the best strategy for supporting data transportability and long-term data accessibility.
KEY BENEFITS
End users can access files with an explorer-compatible view and easily use "drag and drop" without needing administrator intervention. File access from LTFS tape is quick, measured in seconds, with file transfers reaching speeds of up to 900MB/s in compressed mode and 360MB/s in native mode.
The solution enables high scalability by easily adding tape cartridges to the tape library. And even more, by connecting multiple tape libraries.
Hardware upgrades are non-disruptive, and more storage capacity can be managed with fewer resources.
Data mover move less used data from primary storage to tape storage, thus reducing the overall cost of storage.
Furthermore, tape storage is seen as a green storage. This has an impact on the electric bills but also decreases cooling requirements.
